SUDHA TELUGU ACTRESS BORN 1944 SEPTEMBER 28
Sudha is a well known Telugu cum Tamil mother role artist. She is popular in Tamil industry for her role in Duet with Prabhu and Ramesh Aravind. Sudha usually performed in character roles, when she was young. She has acted as the sister for almost all the top heroes and also has acted as their mother after few years. Sudha was seen in the film Guru Sishyan as the sister of Rajini and Prabhu. Later she acted as Prabhu’s stepmother in the movie Duet, directed by Balachander. From the late 80's till now, Sudha has performed many roles that expose her acting talent. She has also acted as a mother goddess in Raghavendra Mahatmyam.
Whatever character she undertakes, Sudha holds on to that role tightly and lives as the character in a natural way. She has done hundreds of movies as the mother of the Heroes and Heroines, and her role is always appreciated. She is very choosy in her roles and always looks at the importance of her role. In Kanden Kadhalai, she did the mother role for the heroine Tamannaah, and that role got a good response too. Her debut movie in Telugu was Gang Leader in 1991. Ishtam, Manmadhudu, Allari, Nuvve Nuvve, Naga, Dil, Janaki Weds Sriram, TheeradhaVilayattu Pillai and Oka Laila Kosam are her popular movies.
Character Actor, Sudha has become highly popular with her mother roles in many Telugu movies and she is one of the popular and most sought after actors in the Telugu Cinema. She acted with big heroes and small ones as well in more than 750 films. In a recent interaction with a popular youtube channel she shared some interesting facts about her life.
Sudha said she is still alive because of Akkineni Nagarjuna. During one of the shoots, Sudha was having heavy pain in the stomach and actor was able to recognize it as Appendicitis. Immediately, the actress was taken to a near by hospital and got her Appendix operated. On another occasion, when Sudha got injured on sets of Ravoyi Chandamama and she was in immovable condition, Nagarjuna immediately arranged his personal doctor to look after her. She thanks him for that and said she will be indebted for life.
The actress also shared her experience with K.Balachander and said when her initial foray into industry as a lead did not workout, it is KB sir who suggested her to take up supporting roles. She thanks him for that suggestion and got highly emotional talking about Uday Kiran. She said the actor was like her son and if she adopted him after his mother's death, she could have saved him.
