BLOODY MARY I  1516 FEBRUARY 18- 1558 NOVEMBER 17 முதலாம் மேரி (Mary I, 18 பெப்ரவரி 1516 – 17 நவம்பர் 1558) சூலை 1553 முதல் அவரது இறப்பு வரை இங்கிலாந்து அயர்லாந்து இராச்சியங்களின் அரசியாக இருந்தவர். இங்கிலாந்து அவரது தந்தை எட்டாம் என்றியின் காலத்தில் சீர்திருத்தத் திருச்சபையைத் தழுவியிருந்தது; இதனை மாற்றி இங்கிலாந்தை மீளவும் கத்தோலிக்க வழிகளுக்குத் திருப்ப அவர் எடுத்த கடுமையான நடவடிக்கைகளுக்காக அறியப்படுகிறார். இதற்காக அவர் நிறைவேற்றிய கொலைகளை அடுத்து அவரை சீ்ர்திருத்த வாத எதிரிகள் "பிளடி மேரி" (குருதிக்கறை மேரி) என அழைத்தனர். எட்டாம் என்றியின் முதல் மனைவி காத்தரீனுக்குப் பிறந்தவர்களில் மேரி மட்டுமே எஞ்சிய ஒரே பெரியவளாகும் வரை உயிருடன் இருந்த மகவாகும். 1547இல் மேரியின் தம்பி (என்றியின் இரண்டாம் மனைவி ஜேன் செய்மோருக்குப் பிறந்தவர்) இங்கிலாந்தின் ஆறாம் எட்வேர்டு ஒன்பது அகவையில் அரியணை ஏறினார். 1553இல் உயிர்க்கொல்லி நோயொன்றுக்கு எட்வர்டு வீழ்ந்தபோது தனக்கு அடுத்த வாரிசுப் பட்டியலிலிருந்து மேரியின் பெயரை நீக்க முயன்றார். தனது ஆட்சியில் தான் கொணர்ந்த சீர்திருத்த ...
