Kalpana Kartik (born Mona Singha) is a retired Hindi film actress. She starred in six films in the 1950s. She is the wife of Hindi film actor and film maker Late Dev Anand.[2]

Mona Singha was a beauty queen while studying at St. Bede's College, Shimla. She was introduced to films by Chetan Anand of Navketan Films with the film Baazi in 1951. She co-starred with Dev Anand, whom she worked with in all her subsequent films. Her screen name - Kalpana Kartik - was given to her by Chetan Anand during this period.[3]

Her other films were Aandhiyan (1952), Humsafar (1953), Taxi Driver (1954), House No. 44 (1954) and Nau Do Gyaraah (1957)
Career

Mona Singha, aka Kalpana Kartik, was born in a Punjabi Christian family in Lahore.[4] Her father was a Tehsildar of Batala in Gurdaspur District, and she was the youngest of five brothers and two sisters. After the partition, her family moved to Shimla. She was a student of the prestigious St. Bede's College, Shimla. In her graduation year, she won the Ms. Shimla contest and was noticed by Chetan Anand, a film-maker from Bombay. He was there with his wife Uma Anand, whose mother is Mona's cousin.[5] He convinced her family to allow her to join his fledgling film company, Navketan Films, as a leading lady. Thus, Mona Singha was re-christened Kalpana Kartik and she moved to Bombay (now known as Mumbai). Her first film Baazi was a huge success and went on to become a landmark in Indian cinema. Baazi was a gamble that defined the destinies of many luminaries all of whom got a career boost from the film.[citation needed]

Kalpana Kartik, became a part of Navketan when it was beginning to spread its wings. She was associated with the film company during its most momentous years. She started with Baazi, the debut of Guru Dutt and ended with Nau Do Gyarah, the debut film of Vijay Anand. Between these two films came Taxi Driver, which was the 'coming of age' film of the Navketan banner. It was Navketan's first super-success and also the film on whose sets Dev Anand secretly married Kalpana Kartik during a lunch break. Kalpana's time in Navketan saw four different directors take reign - Guru Dutt, Chetan Anand, Mandi Burman and Vijay Anand.

Kalpana Kartik worked as an associate producer for Tere Ghar Ke Samne (1963), Jewel Thief (1967), Prem Pujari (1970), Shareef Budmaash (1973), Heera Panna (1973), and Jaaneman (1976). Dev Anand played the lead role in these movies.

Personal life
In 1954, Mona and Dev Anand got married secretly while on a break during the shooting of Taxi Driver.[6] They became parents in 1956 when Suneil Anand was born. They also have a daughter named Devina. After Nau Do Gyarah, Kalpana quit films to become a home maker. Suneil has also acted in films.[7]

When Dev Anand played the role of the suave poet in Teen Devian in 1965, he left women audiences literally swooning due to his amazingly crisp looks and smooth dialogue delivery. He was after all the most handsome actor of his generation, who in his five decades in showbiz, had given the ‘big break’ to some of the big-name actresses of today, including Hema Malini, Zeenat Aman, Tina Munim and in more recent times, Tabu. But he had his big break with the one woman he couldn’t get. This is the story of Dev Anand’s marriage, and his love life.
In spite of decades of being a heartthrob to millions, and the undying love he had for Suraiya, Anand stayed espoused to one woman, Kalpana Kartik, for all his life. However, the one failed relationship with actress Suraiya precedes Dev Anand’s marriage. Post-marriage though he was involved once with the actress Zeenat Aman but that was not for very long, and the matter fizzled out soon.

If Raj Kapoor was the showman of Indian cinema, Dev Anand was the show-stopper who could transfix your attention, by what his brother Chetan Anand described as, ‘those smiling eyes.’ We take a closer look at the love life and more of the legendary Dev Anand.
In 1947, the relatively unknown Dev Anand was offered the leading role opposite the much popular actress Suraiya. Suraiya was born Suraiya Jamaal Sheikh in 1929, and was a playback singer and actress- adept at singing and acting, and the first in the league of established singer-actors like Kishore Kumar, Sulakshana Pandit, and Farhan Akhtar of the post-independence era.

The first film of Dev Anand and Suraiya was Vidya in the year 1948, and it happened so that during the shooting of a song on a river, Anand and Suraiya’s boat capsized. Suraiya did not know how to swim, fortunately Anand did, and he swam holding Suraiya to the bank thus saving her life. Needless to say Suraiya felt indebted to Anand, and the two soon became friends. Their film Vidya was a success, and the Anand-Suraiya pair became the hit formula for producers to make the cash registers ring. The two were signed together time after time; at one point for three films at a row, which eventually led them to spend a lot of time in each other’s company.

By their fourth film, Jeet (1949), their love had blossomed and Anand finally proposed to Suraiya with a diamond ring. It was now clear that the duo were ready to take their relationship to the next level. Since they belonged to different faiths, they knew their families would never concede to their relationship. Therefore, during the making of the film Jeet they decided to slip out of the shooting with help of some friendly co-actors and crew members, and later eloped to get married. The plan for Suraiya and Dev Anand’s marriage would have worked, but apparently, the news reached the ears of an assistant director, who swiftly informed Suraiya’s grandmother, the family chieftess, Badshah Begum, who immediately rushed to the sets and dragged Suraiya home.

It was an emotional drama as usual. Suraiya’s grandmother Badshah Begum threatened to end her life if Suraiya tied the knot with Dev Anand, who belonged to a different faith. Many people say the old lady had a covert reason for opposing Suraiya and Dev Anand’s marriage, the fact that Suraiya was the highest earning member of the large family. Suraiya’s parents though were supportive but their opinion was harshly overridden by Suraiya’s maternal grandmother. Either way the relationship could not culminate into a wedlock, and Suraiya and Anand worked for one last time with the film Do Sitare in 1951. It is said after the completion of the film, the two met at Suriaya’s apartment, in presence of Anand’s elder brother Chetan Anand one last time. The doleful lovers sobbed throughout their last conversation, and later Suraiya threw Anand’s proposal ring into the sea. It was a sad end of a sweet love story, and needless to say the pair was shattered. The sweet dream of Suraiya and Dev Anand’s marriage was sent to it’s end.
Dev Anand was deeply depressed by his breakup with Suraiya, and it is said he almost decided to quit films. It was only when his elder brother Chetan Anand counselled him that he pulled up his socks and decided to to focus on his career. It was in 1951, that he decided to come out with his second home-production film Baazi, which was to be directed by filmmaker and Anand’s good friend Guru Dutt. Chetan Anand, who actually handled the production work at Navketan films, was looking for a fresh face for the part of the female protagonist. It is when he learnt about a 20-year old beauty queen from Shimla called Mona Singha, who happened to be in Mumbai around those days. Chetan Anand approached Mona with the offer for the film to which she obliged, and she was immediately bestowed the screen name Kalpana Kartik. Kalpana made her debut with Baazi (1951), which went on to become a massive hit.

It was deja vu for Anand, excpet this was to be a happy ending, with Dev Anand’s marriage. Just like it happened with him and Suraiya, Anand and Kalpana were offered numerous films together mainly owing to the success the pair brought to the box office. The pair went on to do six films together, and just how Anand fell in love with Suraiya by his fourth film together, he happened to develop amorous feelings for Kalpana during the making of their fourth film together Taxi Driver (1954). This time Anand did not waste any time, and gave out his feelings without hesitation, and surprisingly Kalpana reciprocated the same sentiment about him. Anand had the support of his elder brother, Chetan Anand. and it is said that Kalpana’s parents also assented their daughter’s decision, in spite of the fact that Anand and Kalpana came from different faiths (Kalpana was a Christian).

At the stroke of midnight, during the making of their film Taxi Driver, Dev Anand’s marriage to Kalpana Kartik was officiated at a quiet private ceremony. The sorrows and wounds of Dev Anand were finally healed, and he finally found his true soul-mate. Anand and Kalpana were blessed with a son, Suneil Anand, in 1956 in Zurich, where they were attending a film festival. They later had a daughter too, Devina Anand, thus completing their picture perfect family.
In 1971, Dev Anand discovered Zeenat Aman, an actress, who after a string of flops was all set to leave the country forever. Anand approached her for the role of his hippie sister in what would go on to be the cult classic called Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971). Zeenat Aman decided to give it a shot and the film met a huge success mainly due to Aman’s true to life performance. It marked the beginning of yet another pair, and Anand went on to work with Aman in four more films.

Apparently, Anand soon started feeling enticed towards Aman by the end of their fifth film together Kalabaaz in 1977. But the progress of their alleged affair was broken by none other than the filmmaker Raj Kapoor, with Dev Anand’s marriage still going on. The story goes (and you need to have it with a pinch of salt) that Anand was all set to propose to Aman on one night, but before the date Aman had to attend a party. She asked Anand to accompany her, and he willingly tagged along. It was at this party that Zeenat happened to meet Raj Kapoor, who in his inebriated state, began flirting with Zeenat Aman in a raunchy manner. What shocked Anand next was the sight of Aman reciprocating Kapoor’s every racy move with equal zeal and excitement. Needless to say, Anand soon called-off the date, and the two moved away to their respective paths since then. Since then he was never linked-up with any other actress ever, and Dev Anand’s marriage to Kalpana was his only one.
Dev Anand and Kalpana Kartik remained espoused till his death in the year 2011. Anand surely left a lasting legacy, and his wife happens to be the only living member of the original Navketan films team, which gave some of the finest hits of the 1950s and 1960s. Kalpana Kartik now lives with her children and grandchildren in Mumbai, and in a rare 2015 interview she shared the following poignant words about her husband, the legendary Dev Anand.


“He was a really caring husband and father. People feel we separated, but that is absolutely false. Dev is very much in my heart even today, smiling and guiding me as only he can. I just cannot believe that he is no more. To me he is always Dev Anand my husband, right from our midnight marriage on the sets of Taxi Driver in 1954.”

Picture-pretty brunette Margaret Lindsay was one of a number of pleasant, sweet-natured ingénues who could do no wrong in a score of 1930s stylish Hollywood pictures. Such altruistic love interests were often overlooked in pictures that were carried by the flashy histrionics of a jaunty James Cagney or temperamental Bette Davis, both of whom she supported in several films. Ergo, while she was a lovely distraction and a highly capable talent, Margaret failed to ignite and command the attention of a truer star.
The Dubuque, Iowa-born lovely was christened Margaret Kies in real life, the eldest of six (she had four sisters (Helen, Jane, Lori, Mickie), one brother (Jack)). Her father, a druggist, enrolled her at the National Park Seminary in Washington, DC. The acting bug hit Margaret quite early, however, and she subsequently attended New York's American Academy of Dramatic Arts to pursue her dream. Unable to find work in New York, she traveled to England for further speech and acting study. 

Here she made her professional stage debut and gained experience and confidence in such plays as "Escape," "By Candlelight," and "Death Takes a Holiday". With her resume now consisting of strong theatre credits, she returned to the States hoping to finally make a mark on Broadway, but again her career stalled. While waiting for a show of hers to open following production delays (eventually she co-starred on Broadway opposite Roland Young in "Another Love Story"), 

Margaret had a number of screen tests arranged for her. Shelving her Iowa-based roots, Universal took an interest in the "British stage actress" and signed her on. She made her debut in Okay America! (1932) and toiled in a few minor roles before taking full advantage of her "English tea rose" reputation with a small but noticeable part in the "all-British" grand-scale epic film Cavalcade (1933) as an optimistic honeymooner on board the fateful H.M.S.Titanic.

Warner Bros. then picked up her option and began featuring her gracefully opposite such magnanimous stars as Leslie Howard, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., George Arliss and Humphrey Bogart. "Americanized" as a lead and second lead, she was able to drop the British pretense and appeared opposite Cagney in Lady Killer (1933), Devil Dogs of the Air (1935), Frisco Kid (1935) and 'G' Men (1935). 

The studio had her work as a second-lead to Ms. Davis as well in such films as Fog Over Frisco (1934) and Bordertown (1935). Of note, she supported Davis in both her Oscar-winning "Best Actress" pictures -- Dangerous (1935) and Jezebel (1938). She also took on a Davis castoff role in Garden of the Moon (1938), a musical in which Margaret did not sing.

Margaret's longstanding problem was that she was either involved in minor pictures that would do nothing to advance her career or was handed oblique secondary roles in "A" pictures wherein she played the star's best friend, light romantic rival or socialite. One of Margaret's sisters, Jane Gilbert was briefly an actress in the late 1930s/early '40s and was once married to Perry Mason (1957) co-star William Hopper, who played private investigator Paul Drake.

Following one of her best roles as Hepzibah in Nathaniel Hawthorne's The House of the Seven Gables (1940), Margaret signed up with Columbia in the recurring "Ellery Queen" series (seven in all) as mystery writer Nikki Porter opposite either Ralph Bellamy or William Gargan's title crime solver. Probably her best remembered role, this renewed popularity did not guarantee "A" pictures and she remained for the most part in second tier filming. 

One of her more atypical roles came as a man-baiting saloon girl in The Vigilantes Return (1947). In the 1940s, she replenished her film resume with secondary ladylike roles behind Joan Bennett in Scarlet Street (1945), Lana Turner in Cass Timberlane (1947) and Barbara Stanwyck in B.F.'s Daughter (1948). Margaret also sought work on TV and on the legit stage in the next decade. Her final film was in typically pleasant mode as Nurse Colman in Tammy and the Doctor (1963) showcasing a nubile Sandra Dee.

Margaret never married in real life but remained close to her family. Her dating companions were typically "safe" stars such as Cesar Romero, Richard Deacon, and even Liberace. For much of her time in Hollywood, Margaret shared a home with a close sister. She died at age 70 in Los Angeles of emphysema in the spring of 1981.

Shiver me timbers and walk the plank—it’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Celebrated annually on Sept. 19, the parodic yo-ho-ho-holiday gives every swashbucker and hornswaggler the opportunity to grab an eyepatch, stuff a parrot on their shoulder and yell “Arrr!” at the most unsuspecting, lily-livered of pals. Cooked up by Oregon friends John Baur (Ol’ Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap’n Slappy) in 1995, it has since become a cult phenomenon, with restaurants, radio stations and social media platforms clamoring to be part of the fun.

But it’s clear our much-loved “pirate-ese” language bears little relation to the actual speech of 17th and 18th-century buccaneers. In fact, evidence suggests that our modern impression of pirate speech is all down to Disney. Here’s why:






Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson’s adventure novel Treasure Island was published in 1883. In 1950, the popular tale was adapted for Hollywood in what was Walt Disney’s first movie made with live actors only.

The movie starred Robert Newton as the fictional pirate Long John Silver. His performance was certainly a memorable one; TIME’s 1950 review of Disney’s Treasure Island notes that it “offers the fun of watching an eye-rolling, lip-twitching Robert Newton as he wallows outrageously through the role of Long John Silver, one of fiction’s most ingratiating scoundrels.”

Born in Dorset and educated in Cornwall, Newton based his pirate talk on his own native British West Country dialect. His accent might not have been far off—the south west of England has long been associated with pirates because of its strong maritime heritage; notorious pirate Blackbeard was even said to have come from Bristol, in the heart of that area.

Newton’s iconic role as Long John Silver was so influential that a variation his West Country English became the standard for portrayals of pirates on stage and in the cinema. As historian Colin Woodard told the National Geographic in 2011, “Newton’s performance—full of ‘arrs,’ ‘shiver me timbers,’ and references to landlubbers—not only stole the show, it permanently shaped pop culture’s vision of how pirates looked, acted, and spoke.”

So, today, when your yo-ho-ho-ing is done, sit back with a bottle of rum and spare a thought for Robert Louis Stevenson and Robert Newton—whom we have to thank for giving us the excuse to yell out “Ahoy, me Hearties!” to an unsuspecting passerby.

Priya Tendulkar (1954–2002)[1] was an Indian actress,[

2] social activist and a writer, who is most known for her eponymous role in the television series Rajani (1984).












Early life[edit]

Priya displayed an inclination towards art and culture from her childhood as her father was the eminent popular writer Vijay Tendulkar.

Career[edit]

Her first appearance was as a doll in a stage play called Haya Vadan (1969) along with Kalpana Lajmi. Later she shuffled between different jobs as a hotel service receptionist in a 5 star hotel, an air hostess, and a part-time model,and also she was also a news reader.

Her debut film appearance was in Shyam Benegal's Ankur (1974)where she played Anant Nag's submissive wife. Thereafter she switched her interest towards Marathi films and played stellar roles in nearly a dozen Marathi family socials, opposite actors like Ashok Saraf, Ravindra Mahajani and Mahesh Kothare. She also appears opposite to Anant Nag in the Kannada movie Minchina Ota, in an important role.

She rose to national fame with her TV series Rajani (1985) where she played a housewife who can't stand any injustice and solves public social issues. Her portrayal of Rajani made her a household name all over India. Later she played another feminist role in Gulzar's TV series, Swayamsiddha.

Priya led a freestyle life wherein she spoke about social issues openly without fear and always expressed her feelings without a bias or prejudice.[citation needed] This side of her fiery personality reflected in her talk shows like Priya Tendulkar Talk Show and Zimmedar Kaun.

She also played an important role as actress in Gujarati movie named "pooja na phool" which was very popular movie of the time.

Kavya Madhavan is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in Malayalam films.

She made her debut in Pookkalam Varavayi (1991) as a child artist. Kavya's debut film as a lead actress was Lal Jose's Chandranudikkunna Dikhil (1999) while she was in the ninth standard. It turned out to be a commercial success and lead to her career as a lead star in the 2000s. She won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress twice, for her performances in the films Perumazhakkalam (2004) and Gaddama (2010).

Kavya Madhavan was born in 1984 in Lourde Hospital the city of Taliparamba in Kannur district, Kerala, India, to P. Madhavan and Shyamala.

She spend her childhood days in Nileshwaram of Kasaragod district even though she was a Kannurite by birth . 
















She attended Nileshwaram GLP School and entered the film industry as a child artist. She learned dancing during her school days and participated in competitions. 

She was a Kalathilakam in a Sub District Schools Youth Festival.[3] She currently resides in Vennala, Ernakulam, Kerala, India.[4] She completed her schooling in National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).[5]












Movie career[edit]

She first appeared as a child actor in Kamal's film Pookkalam Varavayi (1991) at the age of seven. Subsequently she was offered parts in other projects such as Pavam IA Ivachan (1994), Parasala Paatchan Payyannur Paramu (1994) by P.Venu and Azhakiya Ravanan (1996), directed by Kamal.

She was offered the female lead in Chandranudikkunna Dikhil, also starring Dileep, in 1999.[6]

Kavya is a trained dancer who has won many awards and accolades.[citation needed]









After the success of Chandranudikkunna Dikhil, Kavya Madhavan and Dileep became a popular pairing in Malayalam cinema, and they worked together in 18 movies.[7] Some of their movies are Thenkasipattanam (2000), Darling Darling (2000), Meesa Madhavan (2002) which was one of biggest grosser of the year and was directed by Lal Jose, Mizhi Randilum (2003) in which 

she played a double role, Sadanandante Samayam (2003), Thilakkam (2003) directed by Jayaraj, Runway (2004) directed by Joshiy, Kochi Rajavu (2005), Lion (2006) again directed by Joshiy, Chakkara Muthu (2006), Inspector Garud (2007), Paappi Appacha (2010), and Vellaripravinte Changathi (2011). Most of their movies were in the romantic comedy genre.

She also acted in films with Mammootty and Mohanlal, and in movies with several stars, such as Ee Pattanathil Bhootham, Christian Brothers and China Town.

She got critical acclaim for her performance of the role of Ganga in Perumazhakkalam for which she won 2004 Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress and for the role of Ashwati in Gaddama where she played a housemaid working in Saudi Arabia. The movie was based on a feature by K. U. Iqbal, published in Bhashaposhini.[8] The movie was directed by her mentor Kamal, and 

she got her second Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for 2011. She won the 2011 Kerala Film Critics Awards for Best Actress, Amrita-FEFKA Film Awards for Best Actress, Best Actress-Malayalam cinema in 59th Filmfare Awards South and Best Actress in Thikkurissy Foundation Awards.[9] She was nominated in National film award for Best Actress but lost out in the final round. She was part of big grossers like Christian Brothers and China Town in 2011 and was selected as Top Star (Female) 2011 in Malayalam.[10]

She was cast in Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Naalu Pennungal in which she played a supporting role.

Though she had many offers from Tamil cinema, she was very reluctant to act due to her busy schedule in Malayalam. Her first was Kasi (2001) which was the remake of Vinayans Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum. She went on to act in En Mana Vaanil and Sadhu Miranda and enjoyed moderate success.

She wrote lyrics for the song "En Khalbillulloru Pennaanu" for the film One Way Ticket.[11] She sang her first movie song for the Malayalam film Matinee (2012).[12]








Personal life[edit]

She married actor Nishal Chandra on February 9 in 2009.[13] 

After the marriage she moved to Kuwait to be with her husband.[14] However, she returned home in June the same year and did not go back thereafter. She filed a divorce petition with the Family Court at Ernakulam on 24 July 2010.[13][15] Kavya and Nischal appeared before the Ernakulam Family Court on 25 May 2011 and expressed their willingness for a mutual divorce. She was granted divorce by court on 30 May 2011.

In April 2013 Mathrubhumi Books published a collection of memoirs written by Kavya, titled Kathayil Alpam Kavyam. The memoir gives a glimpse into her childhood memories and the experiences of her school days and in the film industry. The book was released by writers Subhash Chandran and Deedi Damodaran at a function held in K. P. Kesava Menon Hall, Kozhikode, on 11 April.[16]

She launched her own venture Laksyah.com in June 2015, an online clothing store.

காவ்யா மாதவனை அடைவதற்காக அவரது கணவரை ஆள் வைத்து மிரட்டியுள்ளார் திலீப். இத்தகவல் மீண்டும் இப்போது விஸ்வரூபம் எடுத்துள்ளது. 1998ல் நடிகை மஞ்சுவாரியரை திருமணம் செய்திருந்த திலீப்புக்கு, மற்றொரு மலையான நடிகையான காவ்யா மாதவன் மீதும் மோகம். இதனால் இருவரும் காதலில் திளைத்து, மகிழ்ச்சியாக காலத்தை கடத்தி வந்தனர். இருப்பினும் 2009, பிப்ரவரி 9ம் தேதி, குவைத்தில் வசிக்கும் நிஷால் சந்திரா என்பவருடன் காவ்யாவுக்கு திருமணமானது. 

குவைத் ரிட்டர்ன் தம்பதிகள் உடனடியாக குவைத் சென்றனர். ஆனால், அதே ஆண்டு ஜூன் மாதம், காவ்யா கேரளாவுக்கே திரும்பி வந்தார். 2010 ஜூலை 24ம் தேதி, கணவரிடம் இருந்து விவாகரத்து கேட்டு கோர்ட்டுக்கு போனார். 2011, மே 30ம் தேதி இவர்களுக்கு விவாகரத்து வழங்கப்பட்டது

கள்ளக்காதல் விவாகரத்துக்கான காரணம் பற்றி காவ்யா வாயே திறக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் அவரது கணவரோ, மலையாள நடிகர் ஒருவரோடு காவ்யாவுக்கு காதல் இருப்பதாகவும், திருமமணத்திற்கு பிறகும், அது கள்ளக்காதலாக தொடர்வதாகவும் குற்றம்சாட்டியிரு்நதார். அது எந்த நடிகர் என நிஷால் கூறவில்லை.

தாய் பகீர் ஆனால் பிறகு ஒருமுறை, நிஷால் தாயார் பேசிய ஆடியோ ஒன்று வைரலாக சுற்றியது. அந்த ஆடியோவில், காவ்யாவை தனது மகனிடமிருந்து பிரித்தது, நடிகர் திலீப் என குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டிருந்தது. மேலும், தனது மகனை அடியாட்களை வைத்து திலீப் மிரட்டிதான் விவாகரத்துக்கு சம்மதிக்க வைத்ததாக அந்த ஆடியோவில் நிஷால் தாய் கூறியிருந்தார்.

பாவனா பின்னணி காவ்யாவுடன் ஹோட்டல் அறையில் ஒன்றாக திலீப் இருந்ததை நடிகை பாவனா பார்த்து, அது மஞ்சு வாரியருக்கு தெரிந்த பிறகு திலீப்புடனான திருமண உறவை மஞ்சு வாரியர் முறித்துக்கொண்டார். இத்தம்பதிக்கு மகள் இருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது

அதேபோல் திருமணமான நான்கு வருடத்தில் தன் கணவனை பிரிந்த காவ்யா மாதவனுடன், திலீப்புக்கு தொடர்பு ஏற்பட்ட பிறகே மஞ்சு வாரியர் திலீப்பை விவாகரத்து செய்ததாக கூறப்பட்டது.

தனக்கும், திலீப்புக்கும் திருமணம் என்று வரும் செய்திகளில் உண்மை இல்லை என்றார் காவ்யா மாதவன். அப்படி அவரை திருமணம் செய்வதாக இருந்தால் அதை மறைக்க மாட்டேன் என்றும் கூறினார்.

நடிகை துன்புறுத்தல் வழக்கில், கைதுசெய்யப்பட்டு சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நடிகர் திலீப், ஓணம் பண்டிகை கொண்டாட ஜாமீன் வேண்டி கேரள உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் மனு அளித்திருந்தார். இந்த மனுவையும் நீதிமன்றம் தள்ளுபடி செய்துவிட்டது. இந்த ஓணத்தை திலீப் சிறை நண்பர்களுடன் கொண்டாடும் சூழல். திலீப்புக்கு எப்படியும் ஜாமீன் கிடைத்துவிடும் என நம்பியிருந்த அவரின் குடும்பத்தினர் ஏமாற்றத்திற்குள்ளானார்கள்.

திலீப்புக்கு ஜாமீன்  கிடைக்காமல் போனதற்கு அவரின் மனைவியும் நடிகையுமான காவ்யா மாதவன் அளித்த வாக்குமூலமே காரணம் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. நடிகையை கடத்தியதாக கூறப்படும் பல்சர் சுனிலை முதலில் யாரென்று தனக்குத் தெரியாது என விசாரணையில் காவ்யா மாதவன் கூறியிருந்தார். போலீஸின் கிடுக்கிப்பிடி விசாரணையில், "தன் போனில் இருந்து ஒரு முறை பல்சர் சுனிலுக்கு  திலீப் போன் செய்ததாகவும் அவர் சொன்னதன் பேரில், சுனிலுக்கு 25 ஆயிரம் பணம் கொடுத்தேன்'' என வாக்குமூலம் அளித்துள்ளார். 

காவ்யா மாதவனின் வாக்குமூலத்தை முன் வைத்து, திலீப்பை வெளியே விட்டால் சாட்சிகளை கலைக்க வாய்ப்பிருப்பதாக போலீஸ் தரப்பில் வாதிடப்பட்டது. தொடர்ந்து நடிகர் திலீப்பின் ஜாமீன் மனு மூன்றாவது முறையாக நிராகரிக்கப்பட்டது. நடிகை காவ்யா மாதவனின் வாக்குமூலம் இந்த வழக்கின் முக்கிய ஆதாரமாக கருதப்படுகிறது.

நடிகையை கடத்தும் முன்பு சுனி காவ்யாவின் கொச்சி வீட்டிற்கு சென்றதை போலீசார் கண்டுபிடித்துள்ளனர். மேலும் காவ்யாவின் தாயிடம் இருந்து சுனி ரூ. 25 ஆயிரம் முன்பணம் பெற்றதும் தெரிய வந்துள்ளது. நடிகையை கடத்திய பிறகு சுனி காவ்யாவின் கடையான லக்ஷ்யாவுக்கு சென்றதற்கும் ஆதாரங்கள் உள்ளது. நடிகையை வீடியோ எடுத்த செல்போனை அவர் அந்த கடையில் உள்ள ஒருவரிடம் கொடுத்துவிட்டு ரூ. 2 லட்சம் வாங்கியது தெரிய வந்துள்ளது. நடிகை வழக்கில் காவ்யா மற்றும் அவரது தாயிடம் போலீசார் ஏற்கனவே மணிக்கணக்கில் விசாரணை நடத்தினர். இந்நிலையில் கைது பயத்தில் உள்ள காவ்யா மாதவன் முன்ஜாமீன் கோரி கேரள உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளார்.
