  MAXIM GORKEY RUSSIAN WRITER  BORN  1868 MARCH 28 -1936 JUNE 18 மாக்சிம் கார்க்கி (Maxim Gorky) என அறியப்படும் அலெக்சி மாக்சிகொவிச் பெசுகோவ் (உருசியம்: Алексе́й Макси́мович Пешко́в; 28 மார்ச் [யூ.நா. 16 மார்ச்] 1868 – 18 சூன் 1936) உருசியா நாட்டை சேர்ந்த பிரபல எழுத்தாளர் மற்றும் அரசியல்வாதி.[1] இவர் உலகின் மிகச் சிறந்த புதினங்களில் ஒன்றாகக் கருதப்படும் தாய் என்ற புதினத்தை எழுதினார். வாழ்க்கை மாக்சிம் கார்க்கி குருசியாவில் நிஜினி நவ்கரோட் என்ற ஊரில் ஏழ்மையான குடும்பத்தில் 1868இல் பிறந்தார். இயற்பெயர் அலெக்சி மாக்சிமோவிச் பெஷ்கோவ். இவருடைய 5 ஆவது வயதில் வயதில் தந்தை இறந்தார். தந்தையார் ஒரு தச்சர். தாயின் ஆதரவும் இல்லாத இவரை இவரின் பாட்டிதான் வளர்த்தார். 1879 இல் இவருடைய தாய் இறந்தார். வறுமை காரணமாக பள்ளிப் படிப்பு அவ்வளவாக கிடைக்கவில்லை. 8 வயதிலேயே வேலைக்குச் சென்றார். வேலை செய்துகொண்டே தானாகவே முயன்று கல்வி கற்றார். உருசிய, பிரெஞ்சு, இத்தாலி, ஆங்கிலம், செருமனி ஆகிய மொழிகளைக் கற்றார். வாழ்க்கைத் துணைவி 1896ஆம் ஆண்டு அச்சுப்பிழை திருத்துவதில் துணைவராக இருந்த ஏகடரினா பவ்லோவ்...

She is also a former women's national champion in swimming and cycling.
