SURULI FALLS - A SHORT STORY சுருளி அருவி ஆர்ப்பரித்தபடி நீரைக் கொட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. பெரிய பாறைகளும் சிரிய கற்களுமாய் இருக்கும் ஓடையின் கரையில் அமர்ந்து நானும் எனது நண்பனும் ஓடும் நீரை வேடிக்கை பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோம். ஓடைக்கரையின் மறுபுறம் கையில் ஒரு பார்சலும் கையுமாய் அழுக்கு லுங்கியுடன் வந்த ஒருவன் கல்லின் மீது உட்கார்ந்தான். இடுப்பில் சொருகியிருந்த ஒரு குவார்ட்டர் பாட்டிலை எடுத்து கல்லின் மீது வைத்தவன்; இப்போது கொண்டு வந்த பார்சலை பிரித்தான் , அஞ்சாறு சமோசா... இருந்தது. அவன் அமர்ந்த ிருந்த கல்லைச் சுற்றிலும் தண்ணீர் ஓடிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. மேலே இருந்த நூறாண்டு கடந்த மரங்களில் இருந்த வெளவ்வால்களும் , பறவைகளும் சத்தமிட்டபடியே இருந்தன. எங்களை வேடிக்கை பார்த்தபடி குவர்ட்டர் பாட்டிலின் தலையை திருகினான். பாட்டில் சரக்கின் கொஞ்சத்தை கொண்டு வந்த பிளாஸ்டிக் டம்ளரில் ஊற்றினான். இப்போது டம்ளர் சரக்கில் தண்ணீரை சேர்க்க வேண்டும். ஓடைத் தண்ணீரோ ஆர்ப்பரித்து ஓடிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. டம்ளரை எடுத்து ஓடும் நீரில் அமிழ்த்தி மொள்ள முயற்சித்தான். SAMOSA , NOODLES - INTERESTING STORIES Samosa - The SAMOSA probably travelled to India along ancient trade routes from Central Asia.  Samosa was first brought to the Indian subcontinent in 13th-14th century by the Iranian traders who travelled to India.  In Arab cookbooks of the 10th century Samosa was called as sanbusak.   The Persian name for the pyramids was samsa.  It was centuries later that Muslim traders took their pastry pyramids with them to India. –  In 1334, the renowned traveller Ibn Battuta wrote about the sambusak: "minced meat cooked with almonds, pistachios, onions and spices placed inside a thin envelop of wheat and deep-fried in ghee". And the samosa obtained a royal stamp with its inclusion in the Ain-i-Akbari which declared that among dishes cooked with wheat there is the qutab, "which the people of Hind called the sanbusa".
