நல்லது செய்ய போய் இறந்த தன் ஒரே அக்கா, 9 வயது அக்கா மகளுக்கு தந்தையாக மாறிய சஞ்சீவ் – இது தான் அவரின் அக்கா மகள்.

விஜய் தொலைக்காட்சியில் ஒளிபரப்பாகிவரும் பிக்பாஸ் நிகழ்ச்சி 78 நாட்களை கடந்து சென்றுகொண்டு இருக்கிறது. இந்த சீசனில் தெரிந்த முகங்களை விடை தெரியாத முகங்கள் தான் அதிகம் இருக்கிறார்கள். அதிலும் ஆண் போட்டியாளர்களை விட பெண்கள் தான் அதிகம் உள்ளனர். மேலும், நிகழ்ச்சியில் போட்டிகளும், சவால்களும் நாளுக்கு நாள் வலுப்பெற்றுக் கொண்டே செல்கிறது. இதனால் போட்டியாளர்களுக்குள் கலவரம் தொடங்கி இருக்கிறது. முதல் நாளே 18 பேர் கலந்து கொண்ட இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் இதுவரை 10 பேர் வெளியேறி இன்னும் 10 பேர் உள்ளே இருக்கின்றனர்.

அக்கா மகளை நினைத்து கலங்கிய சஞ்சீவ் :

இதில் வைல்டு கார்டு போட்டியாளர்களாக நுழைந்த அமீர் மற்றும் சஞ்சீவ் ஆகிய இருவரும் அடக்கம். இதில் சஞ்சீவ் பற்றி நாம் அனைவரும் அறிந்திருப்போம். ஆனால், அவரது சகோதரி பற்றியும் அவரும் ஒரு நடிகை தான் என்பதை பற்றியும் பலர் அறிந்திருக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. நேற்றய பிக் பாஸ் நிகழ்ச்சியில் ஹிப் ஹாப் ஆதி நடித்துள்ள ‘அன்பறிவு’ படக்குழு வந்திருந்தனர். அப்போது இந்த படத்தின் இயக்குனர் அஸ்வின் தான் சஞ்சீவின் உறவினர் என்று கூறி இருந்தார்.

சஞ்சீவின் அக்கா சிந்து :

அப்போது பேசிய சஞ்சீவ், என் அக்கா இறந்த பின்னர் என்னுடைய அக்கா பெண்ணை ஒரு நல்ல இடத்தில் கட்டி கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்ற ஒரு பொறுப்பு எனக்கு இருந்தது. அஸ்வினை நினைத்து எனக்கு சந்தோஷமாக இருக்கிறது என்று கூறியிருந்தார். ஆனால், உண்மையில் அவருடைய அக்கா வேறு யாரும் இல்லை பிரபல நடிகை சிந்து தான் தான் என்பது பலரும் அறிந்திராத ஒன்று பிரபல நடிகை மஞ்சுளா விஜயகுமாரின் ஒரே சகோதரியான ஷியாமளா மகன் மற்றும் மகள் தான் சஞ்சீவ் மற்றும் சிந்து.

தமிழில் இணைந்த கைகள் என்ற படத்தின் மூலம் தான் தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு அறிமுகமானவர். இந்த படத்தில் ராம்கிக்கு ஜோடியாக நடித்திருந்தார். அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து பட்டிக்காட்டு தம்பி, பரம்பரை, சின்னத்தம்பி, கிரி போன்ற பல திரைப்படங்களில் நடித்திருக்கிறார். கடைசியாக இவர் சரத்குமார் நடித்த ஐயா திரைப்படத்தில் நடித்திருந்தார். இந்த படம் இவர் இறந்த பிறகு தான் வெளியே வந்திருந்தது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இவர் இதுவரை 250க்கும் மேற்பட்ட படங்களில் நடித்திருக்கிறார்.

அஸ்துமா பிரச்சனை :

மேலும், இவர் தமிழ் மொழியில் மட்டுமல்லாமல் தெலுங்கு, கன்னடம், மலையாளம் என பிற மொழி படங்களிலும் நடித்து இருக்கிறார். பின் சினிமாவில் வாய்ப்புகள் குறைய ்இவர் சின்னத்திரை பக்கம் சென்று விட்டார்.. இவர் சின்னத்திரையில் பல தொடர்களில் நடித்து இருக்கிறார் அதிலும் இவர் மெட்டி ஒலி சீரியல் மூலம் மக்கள் மத்தியில் தனக்கென ஒரு இடத்தைப் பிடித்தார் என்று சொல்லலாம். இவர் பெரும்பாலும் நெகட்டிவ் கதாபாத்திரங்களில் தான் நடித்து இருந்தார். இவர் சினிமாவில் நெகட்டிவ் கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்திருந்தாலும் நிஜ வாழ்க்கையில் ரொம்ப நல்ல, தங்கமான மனிதர். இவர் 1995 ஆம் ஆண்டு ரகுவீர் என்பவரை திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டார்.

9 வயதில் அம்மாவை இழந்த அக்கா மகள் :

பின் இவர்களுக்கு 1996 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஸ்ரேயா என்ற ஒரு பெண் குழந்தையும் பிறந்தது. இதனிடையே இவருக்கு ஆரம்பத்தில் இருந்தே ஆஸ்துமா பிரச்சனை இருந்துள்ளது. இருந்தும் இவர் சினிமாவிலும் சின்னத்திரையிலும் நடித்து வந்து இருக்கிறார். மேலும், இதற்காக இவர் பல்வேறு விதமான சிகிச்சை பெற்று வந்தார். இப்படி ஒரு நிலையில் தான் 2004ஆம் வருடம் டிசம்பர் 26ஆம் தேதி தமிழகத்தையே புரட்டிப் போட்ட சுனாமி ஏற்பட்டது. இந்த சுனாமியினால் பல ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பேர் உயிரிழந்த சம்பவம் அனைவருக்கும் தெரிந்த ஒன்றே. இதற்கு பலரும் உதவி செய்தார்கள். அப்போது நடிகை சிந்து ஒவ்வொரு வீட்டுக்கும் சென்று சுனாமியால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு நிதி திரட்டினார்

சிந்துவின் மகள் ஸ்ரேயா :

இவருக்கு ஏற்கனவே ஆஸ்துமா, நுரையீரல் பிரச்சனை இருந்ததும் கூட்ட நெரிசலில் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு உதவி செய்து இருந்தார். அப்போது நீண்ட தூரம் நடந்ததால் இவருக்கு மூச்சுத்திணறல் ஏற்பட்டது. பின் இவரை மருத்துவமனையில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டு தீவிர சிகிச்சை அளித்து வந்தார்கள். இருந்தும் சிகிச்சை பயனளிக்காமல் சிந்து இறந்தார். அப்போது சிந்துவுக்கு 33 வயதுதான் இருந்தது. சிந்து இறக்கும் போது அவரது மகளுக்கு வெறும் ஒன்பது வயது தான் அப்போது முதல் தன்னுடைய அக்கா மகளுக்கு ஒரு தந்தை தானத்தில் இருந்து அனைத்தையும் கவனித்து வந்தவர் சஞ்சீவ்

As the curtains came down on 

 the world's greatest sports extravaganza here, India goes back with one silver medal and one bronze -- consolation prizes for a nation of 1.3 billion people amidst dashed hopes of improving on London Olympics of four years ago, when six medals were won.

In the beginning, top officials of the Indian Olympics Association (IOA) were hopeful that India would reach a double-digit in medals, an assumption which got shattered in the first few days here when athlete after athlete either did not qualify, or came up just short of a medal.

It was women power, though, which saved everyone here, and the nation, deep blushes as at one stage it appeared the Indian contingent would go home empty handed. Sakshi Malik from Haryana won the bronze medal in women's wrestling and was given the honour to be the flag-bearer at the closing ceremony. P.V. Sindhu from Hyderabad won a silver in badminton, missing the top honour after a very good fight. Gymnast Dipa Karmakar from Tripura did everyone proud when she reached within touching distance of a bronze, coming fourth in the vault event.

Another heartbreak was Aditi Ashok, who showed a rare patch of brilliance in the first two days of golf, only to end up at 41st position on the fourth, although the 18-year-old Bengaluru golfer was roundly admired and applauded for her determination and play. Lalita Babar from Maharashtra did her career best in 3000m steeplechase, though coming 10th and bettering her national record by three seconds.

The men, though, disappointed in almost everything they touched. Gold medallist Shooter Abhinav Bindra saw the bronze slip out of his hand at the last moment in a shoot-out. How is it that India failed to reach even the London tally of six, though it had sent the largest ever contingent of 117 sports persons to Rio?

Perhaps Bindra's coach Heinz Reinkemeier nailed it in his hometruth: “You send athletes from a country which doesn't have good training facilities, as they have in Europe and China, and you want a gold?” Perhaps it's not merely the lack of international training facilities. Sports need consistent support from school to Olympics which is patchy in India, at best.

A little bit of ignominy was added to the near medal drought when wrestler Narsingh Yadav was disqualified from Olympics after World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) went on appeal at the last moment against National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA)'s clean chit to him. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) sitting in Rio slapped a four-year ban on Narsingh a day before his scheduled bout, overlooking the “conspiracy angle” in the doping test failure.

Shooter Jitu Rai belied the hopes of several officials for a medal when he ended up eighth in 10m air pistol final after playing brilliantly throughout the qualifying round. He then crashed out of 50m air pistol, perhaps misjudging the wind in the last few shots. 

Gurmeet Singh showed a bit of spirit in the 25m rapid fire pistol event, but eventually was left behind. Mairaj Ahmad Khan ended ninth in men's skeet event after missing three shots in the final round in a shoot-out. In the rarefied atmosphere of medal contenders, mistakes are not tolerated. 

Indian boxers too crashed out of Olympics with Vikas Krishan took a major pound from his Uzbek opponent in the 75kg bout. Shiva Thapa in 56kg and Manoj Kumar in 64kg too left the arena without a medal.

Yet, Rio 2016 saw great heights achieved by legends which were a treat to watch. American swimming superstar Michael Phelps achieved something which may remain unchallenged for a long time. He announced his retirement from Olympics after collecting 28 medals, including gold in 13 individual events and 10 in team races. He wrapped up six in Rio.

Several Olympic and World records were broken in Rio, raising the bar yet again in several sports.

Indian athletes may aspire to reach Olympics height, but they end up falling short. On the last day of the greatest sporting show on Earth, India's Yogeshwar Dutt lost out tamely to his Mongolian rival in the 65kg freestyle wrestling and the athletics entries came nowhere striking distance of the top finishers.

All this means that there would be a lot of soul-searching in India on why Rio was a practical failure for such a highly populated country. Can one hope that Tokyo 2020 be different?

இந்நிலையில் தனது வெற்றி குறித்து கூறும்போது, “ஆசிய உலகை உடைத்த ஒரு சிறு ஸ்பானிய நாட்டுக்காரி நான். எனது கனவு உண்மையானது. என்பின்னால் மிகச்சிறந்த அணி இருந்தது. இவர்கள் எனக்கு மிகவும் உதவினர்.

ஆட்டத்தின் சூட்சுமம் என்னவெனில் இறகுப் பந்தை புதிதாக எடுத்து ஆடவேண்டும் அப்போதுதான் வேகம் கிடைக்கும். ஆனால் சிந்து பழைய இறகுப்பந்தில் ஆட முடிவெடுத்தார். 

அவர் இறகுப்பந்தை சில வேளைகளில் மாற்றாமலேயே ஆடினார், காரணம் அது மெதுவாக வரும் ஷாட் அடித்தாலும் வேகம் இருக்காது, எனது கவனத்தை இழக்கச் செய்ய சிந்து இந்த உத்தியைக் கடைபிடித்தார். ஆனால் இப்படி நடக்கும் என்பதை நான் அறிவேன். அது எனக்கு பெரிய அளவில் எரிச்சலை ஏற்படுத்தவில்லை, நான் தயாராகவே இருந்தேன். இவையெல்லாம் அவரவர்கள் கடைபிடிக்கும் தனிப்பட்ட உத்தி, ஆட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியே” இவ்வாறு கூறினார் மாரின்.

India's collective heart is full after badminton star PV Sindhu won the silver medal in the women's singles match at the Rio Olympics.

 In a bravely-fought thriller of a match, Sindhu lost to Spain's Carolina Marin. At home, stars like Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan were watching and saluted the 21-year-old on Twitter.

Rajinikanth, who rarely tweets, declared himself a fan of the young player. His tweet had been retweeted over 8,000 times at the writing of this. Big B, who has been following the Rio Games closely, thanked Sindhu for bringing India glory.

On 10 August 2013, Sindhu became the first ever Indian women's singles player to win a medal at the World Championships. On 30 March 2015, she received India's fourth highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri.[3] She broke into the Top 20 in the Badminton World Federation rankings released on 21 September 2012.[4]

Sindhu's father Ramana is himself an Arjuna Awardee. Ramana represented India in Volleyball.

Childhood and early training[edit]

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu was born in a Telugu family to P. V. Ramana and P. Vijaya – both former volleyball players. Ramana also won the Government of India-instituted 2000 Arjuna Award for his sport.[5] Though her parents played professional volleyball, Sindhu chose badminton over it because she drew inspiration from the success of Pullela Gopichand, the 2001 All England Open Badminton Champion.[6] She eventually started playing badminton from the age of eight.[5]

Sindhu first learned the basics of the sport with the guidance of Mehboob Ali at the badminton courts of Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad. Soon after she joined Pullela Gopichand's badminton academy.[6] While profiling Sindhu's career, a correspondent with The Hindu wrote:

The fact that she reports on time at the coaching camps daily, travelling a distance of 56 km from her residence, is perhaps a reflection of her willingness to complete her desire to be a good badminton player with the required hard work and commitment.[6]

Gopichand seconded this correspondent's opinion when he said that "the most striking feature in Sindhu's game is her attitude and the never-say-die spirit."[7] After joining Gopichand's badminton academy, Sindhu won several titles. In the under-10 years category, 




she won the 5th Servo All India ranking championship in the doubles category and the singles title at the Ambuja Cement All India ranking. In the under-13 years category, Sindhu won the singles title at the Sub-juniors in Pondicherry, doubles titles at the Krishna Khaitan All India Tournament, IOC All India Ranking, the Sub-Junior Nationals and the All India Ranking in Pune.

 She also won the under-14 team gold medal at the 51st National School Games in India.[5]
