Amrita Arora (born 31 January 1978) is an Indian film actress, model, TV Presenter & VJ.[1

Arora was born in Chembur to a Malayali mother Joyce Polycarp and Punjabi father Anil Arora. She attended Swami Vivekananda High School, Chembur, Mumbai.[2] Her sister is Malaika Arora.

She married Shakeel Ladak, a businessman from construction industry in 2009. The ceremonies included a Christian wedding on 4 March 2009 followed by Mehendi on 5 March and a Muslim Nikah ceremony on the 6 March 2009. They have two sons named Azaan born on 5 February 2010 and Rayaan born on 20 October 2012.[3][4]

Arora made her Bollywood debut in 2002 opposite Fardeen Khan in the film, Kitne Door Kitne Paas, which was not successful at the box office. Her first successful film was the action comedy, Awara Paagal Deewana. A series of flops followed, among them the controversial Girlfriend (2004), about a lesbian relationship, in which she appeared opposite Isha Koppikar.

In 2007, she made a special appearance in Farah Khan's film, Om Shanti Om in the song "Deewangi Deewangi" with her sister and brother-in-law Arbaaz Khan. In the same year, she appeared in Speed and Red: The Dark Side, also starring Aftab Shivdasani and Celina Jaitley. The films received mixed reviews at the box office.

In 2009, her releases were Deha and Team the Force. The same year, she appeared in a supporting role in Kambakth Ishq, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

Malaika Arora Khan is a Bollywood item queen, an Indian Actress and model. She is famous for her item songs like Chaiyya Chaiyya and Munni Badnaam Hui. She turned film producer in 2008, with her husband, Arbaaz Khan.


Their company Arbaaz Khan Productions has released its first film, Dabangg. She was seen judging India's Got Talent. She was seen as judge on the dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 8 on Colors. She was seen judging India's Got Talent Season 7 alongwith Karan Johar and Kirron Kher.

Biography

Gorgeous Malaika was born on 23 October 1973 in Chembur, Mumbai. She is the daughter of Punjabi father, Anil Arora and a Malayali Catholic mother, Joyce Polycarp. Her father worked in the Merchant Navy. Her younger sister is Amrita Arora who is also a bollywood actress. 


She completed her secondary education at Swami Vivekanand School in Chembur, Mumbai. She has done her graduation from Jai Hind College, Churchgate. She lived in Borla Society, Chembur opposite Basant Talkies before starting her modeling career.

Marriage/Wedding

Malaika got married to the Bollywood actor and producer Arbaaz Khan on 12 December 1998. They have a son named Arhaan. They had parted ways due to reasons undisclosed.

Earlier it was reported that they might get back together again. 




But Arbaaz said, 

"At this point of time we are not together, we are separated, and that's about it."

Career

Malaika has started her career as a MTV VJ when MTV was launched in India. MTV India gave her prime time roles in their shows "Love Line" and "Style Check". She also hosted award ceremonies and concerts on the television channel.


After working with MTV, Malaika entered into the modeling world and became successful in this field too. She has appeared in many advertisements and item numbers in Bollywood. "Chaiyya Chaiyya" and "Munni Badnaam Hui" are some of her amazing hits. She also appeared in the television shows like Nach Baliye, Zara Nachke Dikha. She was seen as one of the judges in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa with actress Madhuri Dixit and choreographer Remo D'Souza.
