Aditi Rao Hydari is an Indian film actress born 1978 ,October 28who works predominantly in Hindi and Tamil language films. Born and raised in Hyderabad, she is the granddaughter of statesmen Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari and J. Rameshwar Rao. Hydari made her on-screen debut with the Tamil film Sringaram in 2006. The film had her play the role of a devadasi and her performance in the film garnered positive reviews from critics.

Hydari rose to fame after her performance in Sudhir Mishra's 2011 romantic thriller film Yeh Saali Zindagi, a role that won her the Screen Award in the Best Supporting Actress category. She has subsequently starred in several successful Hindi films including the musical Rockstar (2011), the horror-thriller Murder 3 (2013), the romantic comedy Khoobsurat (2014), the thriller Wazir (2016) and the drama Fitoor (2016).

Hydari was born into two royal lineages, that of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari and J. Rameshwar Rao of erstwhile Raja of Wanaparthy family.[2] She is the great granddaughter of Akbar Hydari, former Prime Minister of Hyderabad and the grand niece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former Governor of Assam.[3] Filmmaker Kiran Rao is her maternal first cousin.[4] Her maternal grandparents are Raja J Rameshwar Rao, who headed the administration of Wanaparthi state during its day, and Shanta Rameshwar Rao,[2] a much respected educationalist in the city of Hyderabad, and the chairperson of the publishing house Orient Blackswan. Her mother has Mangalorean Konkani roots.[5] Aditi started learning Bharatanatyam at age six and became a disciple of acclaimed dancer Leela Samson.[6] She did her schooling at Rishi Valley School, Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.

Debut and further roles (2007–15)[edit source]

Hydari made her acting debut with the 2007 Tamil film Sringaram, in which she played the lead character, a devadasi.[6] The film itself was based on classical dance, being directed by Sharada Ramanathan and produced by Padmini Ravi, a noted bharatanatyam dancer. Hydari was approached and offered the role after Ramanathan saw her dance performance at a conference.[7] The film received critical acclaim and fetched several accolades, including three National Film Awards.[7] Her first film to release in theatres, however, was the 2006 Malayalam film Prajapathi, in which she starred alongside Mammootty.[8] In 2009, she played a supporting role in Delhi-6, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

In 2011, Hydari appeared in the film Yeh Saali Zindagi, for which she won the screen award.[9] In 2011, she also starred in the Bollywood film Rockstar.[10] She has appeared in a Airtel 3G advertisement in April 2011.[11] In 2012, she played the female lead in the movie London, Paris, New York, opposite Ali Zafar.[12][12] With this movie, she made her singing debut by singing two of the songs.[2] Hydari received mixed reviews for her performance. The film was a commercial failure.

In 2013, she became a part of Mahesh Bhatt's Murder franchise,[3] when she was cast as Roshni, opposite Randeep Hooda, in Vishesh Bhatt's directorial film Murder 3.[3][13] Hydari received positive reviews for her performance, Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama wrote: "Aditi and Sara are show-stoppers. Both deliver knockout performances",[14] and Roshni Devi of Koimoi stated that "Aditi's performance is pillar for the film."[15] The film was an average grosser, earning ₹25 crore (US$3.9 million). Hydari then starred opposite Akshay Kumar in the action film Boss, directed by Anthony D'Souza.[16] She played the romantic interest of the lead character played by Kumar. The film received mixed responses from critics but was a box office success.[17][18]

In 2017, her first Mani Ratnam movie; Kaatru Veliyidai, released on 7 April, 2017. She plays the role of Dr. Leela from Srinagar and is seen romancing Tamil actor Karthi. She is currently shooting for Omung Kumar's Bhoomi, with Sanjay Dutt, and for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati with Ranveer Singh.

Breakthrough and success (2016–present)[edit source]

In 2016, Hydari starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in Bejoy Nambiar's crime thriller film Wazir.[19] The film tells the story of two unusual friends, a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster, played by Bachchan and a grief-stricken ATS officer, played by Akhtar. Hydari played the love interest of Akhtar's character. The film released on 8 January 2016 to mostly positive reviews and had the box office collection of around ₹62 crore (US$9.7 million).[20][21] Hydari also garnered praise for her performance. Gayatri Gauri in her review for Firstpost called Hydari's performance a "welcome change from glamorous heroines we usually see on screen."[22] Abhijit Bhaduri of The Times of India said that despite the lack of focus on her character, she did justice to her part by "conveying stuff with her eyes."[23] Ananya Bhattacharya of India Today gave Hydari the highest praise saying that she "brings vulnerability to her Ruhana" added that she "has to her credit several strong sequences."[24]

Hydari next starred in Abhishek Kapoor's romantic drama film Fitoor, along with Tabu, Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif.[25] The film based on Charles Dickens' novel Great Expectations, had Hydari play the role of the younger Miss Havisham (later played by Tabu).[26] The film was released on 12 February 2016 to mixed reviews and underperformed at the box-office.[27] However, Hydari garnered praise for her performance. Sarita Tanwar of Daily News and Analysis in her review wrote: "Aditi Rao Hydari does full justice to the part of young Begum", and Surabhi Redkar of Koimoi deemed her "stunning".[28][29]

In 2005,[6] and 2009[8] it was reported that she was married to Satyadeep Mishra, a bollywood and television actor.[30][31] While the actress had declined to comment on her marital status in a 2012 interview,[32] in a 2013 interview she mentioned that they were separated.[3]

After Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan is the fourth most bankable Khan of Bollywood. He was born on 16 August 1970 in New Delhi to former Indian Cricket Team captain, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who hailed from the prestigious royal family of Pataudis, and noted film actress, Sharmila Tagore. Mansoor Ali Khan was Nawab of Pataudi from the year 1952–71. Following his, Saif was crowned the tenth Nawab of Pataudi in a pagri ceremony held in the village of Pataudi, Haryana.
After completing his graduation from the boarding school, Khan came back to India and joined an advertising industry in New Delhi. He worked there for two months before appearing in a television commercial for Gwalior Suiting on the behest of a friend. Subsequently, he was roped in by director Anand Mahindroo, but, unfortunately, the project could not materialize, but Saif relocated to Mumbai to join Hindi films. He finally made his acting debut with Yash Chopra’s unsuccessful film ‘Parampara’ in 1993. 

The movie also starred actor Aamir Khan. He achieved success with his romantic roles in movies like ‘Yeh Dillagi’ (1995), ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ (1994). Following the success of these two films, Khan was offered several other movies. In years to come, Saif went on to star in films like ‘Bambai Ka Babu’ (1996), ‘Tu Chor Main Sipahi’ (1996), ‘Hamesha’ (1997), ‘Udaan’ (1997), ‘Keemat’ (1998) ‘Humse Badhkar Kaun’ (1998), ‘Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan’ (1999), ‘Kachche Dhaage’ (1999), ‘Aarzoo’ (1999) and ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’ (1999).
By the end of 1990s, Khan had done more than a dozen of movies but he hardly got a role which could have brought him the kind of fame and success which he would have imagined. However, the beginning of the new centaury changed his life forever. His performance in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001) turned out to be the best rated performance of his career. The critically and financially successful movie marked a major turning point in the career of the actor, winning him the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role.

 It kind of uplifted the sinking career of Nawab. A gem like Rahul Dev Burman aka R. D. Burman is not born every day. He will always be remembered as the most popular music composer in the history of Hindi film music. The music director, who scored music for more than three hundred films, won many national and international accolades and inspired generations with his phenomenal work, had royal blood in his veins. He was the only son of the composer Sachin Dev Burman and hence a member of the Tripura royal family. His grandmother, Raj Kumari Nirmala Devi, was the royal princess of Manipur and his grandfather, Nabadwipchandra Dev Burman, was the son of Maharaja Ishanachandra Manikya Dev Burman, Maharaja of Tripura.
Like his father, R. D. Burman, who is also famous by his nickname ‘Pancham’, was also inclined towards music since childhood. It was he who composed the iconic song ‘Sar Jo Tera Chakraaye’ as a child, which was used in Guru Dutt’s Pyaasa (1957) by his father. When he grew up, music was the only field he could think of making a career in. Soon, he started assisting his father, S. D. Burman, and often played harmonica in his orchestras. After assisting his father on many successful films, Pancham signed up his first film ‘Raaz’ as an independent music composer in 1959.

 Unfortunately, the film got shelved and he made his debut in ‘Chhote Nawab’ (1961). From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman scored music for 331 films. Some of his most successful films as a composer include ‘Teesri Manzil’ (1966), ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), ‘Padosan’ (1968), ‘Kati Patang’ (1970), ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ (1971), ;Caravan’ (1971) and many more. He established a long term association with the veteran singer, Asha Bhosle, who later became his wife. He also composed many chartbusting songs for other singers like Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.

Besides being wife of Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao is a distinguished film producer, screenwriter and filmmaker. She was born into a royal family of Telangana on 7 November 1973. Her grandfather J. Rameshwar Rao was Raja of Wanaparthy, Telangana state. Though Rao was born in Telangana, she was raised in Kolkata where she completed her schooling. In the year of 1992, her parents decided to leave Kolkata so she moved to Mumbai and did her graduation from the prestigious Sophia College for Women in 1995. Quite studious since birth, Rao enrolled for the Social Communications Media course at the Sophia Polytechnic for two months, but then quit and left for Delhi to do Masters at AJK Mass Communication Research Center at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. After completing the course, she moved back to Mumbai and started working in films as an assistant director.

Rao’s first movie as an assistant director was the godsmakingly epic ‘Lagaan’ (2001) directed by the renowned filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. It was during the shoot of this film where she met her future husband Aamir Khan for the first time. After ‘Lagaan’, she assisted Mira Nair on ‘Monsoon Wedding’ (2001) and Shaad Ali on ‘Saathiya’ (2002). She assisted Ashutosh again on ‘Swades: We, the People’, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. Sachin Dev Burman, popularly known as S D Burman, is revered as one of the most creative and talented music composers of all times. His songs are popular even today, after so many years of coming into existence. Burman was born on 1st October 1906 in Comilla, Bengal Presidency, which at this time falls within the territory of present-day Bangladesh. Nabadwipchandra Dev Burman, son of Maharaja Ishanachandra Manikya Dev Burman, Maharaja of Tripura, was his father and his mother was Raj Kumari Nirmala Devi, the royal princess of Manipur. SD Burman started working as a radio singer on Calcutta Radio Station in the late ’20s before commencing his musical journey in 1937 by composing songs for Bengali films.
n 1944, Burman moved to Mumbai, at the request of Sasadhar Mukherjee of Filmistan. Mukherjee wanted Burman to score music for two films of superstar Ashok Kumar – ‘Shikari’ (1946) and ‘Aath Din’. Burman achieved success and recognition with ‘Do Bhai’ (1947). The song ‘Mera Sundar Sapna Beet Gaya’, which was rendered in the voice of Geeta Dutt, was his breakthrough song. 

The overnight success of the movie catapulted Burman to the peak of fame. Within no time, he emerged as the leading music composers in the industry.
S D Burman embellished more than 100 films in Hindi and Bengali with his excellent music. His songs have been sung by all the established singers of the period including Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Geeta Dutt, Shamshad Begum, Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, Mukesh and Talat Mahmood.

 Reportedly, the actress had signed a three films deal with the Bhatts’ Vishesh Films. But, after ‘Jannat’, Sonal was never seen in any Vishesh Films’ movie again. Renowned actress Bhagyashree, who is best known for her first and only successful Hindi film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989) opposite superstar Salman Khan, is actually related to royalty. Unfortunately, all three films tanked at the box office. In 1993, she also did ‘Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi’, 

which was her last Hindi movie in the 1990s and she quit films for rest of the decade. She made a comeback to Hindi films with ‘Hello Girls’ in 2001 and later appeared in ‘Janani’ (2006), ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’ (2006) and ‘Red Alert: The War Within’ (2008).
