Deepa alias Nakshatra  was born on 1986 ,october 21,to Beep Singh and Bharain Kaur

of Punjabi origin living in Hyderabad.  Poonam Kaur did her schooling in Hyderabad Public School, before doing fashion designing at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi.[1]

She contested in beauty contest and won the title Miss Andra 2015. Later she changed her name as Poonam Kaur. she is going to the brand ambassador for Handlooms for the state of Andhra Pradesh. Impressed with her commitment to handloom works, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu the other day announced that he would make her brand ambassador for Handloooms of Andhra Pradesh.Tollywood’s top actress Samantha has been working as brand ambassador for weaving works of Telangana state. Now Poonam will be doing the same for AP. She is an Indian actress and model from Hyderabad, who appears in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films

Born and raised in Hyderabad, in October 21,1986 [1] Poonam Kaur did her schooling in Hyderabad Public School, before doing fashion designing at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi.[1]

She is a hot model and a wonderful Tollywood actress. The diva of beauty, Poonam Kaur wonMiss Andhra in 2005. Soon after winning Miss Andhra 2005 the entire film industry rushed to her to sign her in their movies. 

But Poonam Kaur, who has already hit the arc lights by doing a music album in Hindi. In 2006, after her won the the title ,, she signed up for a film to be directed by Teja, which didn't take off for unknown reason. However, she took an offer for another Teja film, Oka Vichitram.[1] Even before the release of that film, Kaur was pursuing a lead role in another Telugu film, Mayajalam, which released first.[1]

Subsequently, she appeared in several Telugu film as Nikki And Neeraj, enacting the title role of Nikki and in Souryam, alongside Gopichand and Anushka Shetty. For her performance in the latter, Kaur received a nomination for the Best Supporting Actress Award for 2008. She made her acting debut in the Tamil and Kannada film industries, with S. A. Chandrasekhar's Nenjirukkum Varai and Bandhu Balaga, respectively.

 In 2010, she made a comeback in Tamil with the highly anticipated Unnaipol Oruvan, a remake of the 2008 Bollywood film, A Wednesday!, in which she played a small supporting role alongside legendary actors Kamal Haasan and Mohan Lal.Recently she has been nominated as a brand ambassador for Miss Telangana Event.
