Shanvi has one elder brother and one elder sister, Vidisha Srivastava, who is also an actress in South Indian films.[4] Shanvi studied at the Thakur College of Science and Commerce in Mumbai [4] and completed her B.Com degree in 2013.[5] She is also doing MBA in Mumbai.[6] She has done her Schooling from Children College in Azamgarh.
She made her debut in 2012 in B. Jaya's Lovely while she was still studying.[7] In her second Telugu film Adda she was seen as a fashion designing student and her performance was well received by critics. The Times of India wrote, "In the lengthy role that she has Shanvi gets all her expressions right".[8] Indiaglitz.com and 123telugu.com called her a "big plus" [9] and a "big asset for the film".[10] She was then signed up by Ram Gopal Varma to play a brief role as Vishnu Manchu's romantic interest in his Telugu political drama Rowdy.[11][12] In 2014, she made her Kannada debut with the horror comedy film Chandralekha.[13] She played a character that gets possessed by a ghost [2] and received positive reviews for her performance.[14][15]
