Ramanaidu Daggubati[1] (born 14 December 1984[5]), also known by his stage name Rana Daggubati or simply Rana, is an Indian actor,[6] producer, visual effects co-ordinator and photographer.[7] He is known for his works in Telugu cinema, Tamil cinema and Hindi cinema.[8] As a Visual Effects producer, Rana won the State Nandi Award for Best Special Effects in 2006 for the Telugu film Sainikudu, starring Mahesh Babu.[9] In 2006, he received the National Film Award for co-producing Bommalata – A Bellyful of Dreams.[10]


In 2010, he made his acting debut with the Telugu blockbuster Leader, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. He made his Hindi film debut through Dum Maaro Dum, alongside Bipasha Basu, where he received positive reviews for his performance. In 2015, he starred as the main antagonist in Baahubali: The Beginning, which recorded the second highest gross opening for an Indian film, and later reprised his role as Bhallaldeva in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion which became the highest grossing Indian film of all time.[11][12][13] He has also been in the successful movies The Ghazi Attack, playing Lt colonel Arjun Verma and Nene Raju Nene Mantri.

Rana is also an established television personality, as he hosted award shows such as the 2nd IIFA Utsavam alongside Nani, the 2nd South Indian International Movie Awards and he currently hosts his own celebrity talk show, No. 1 Yaari, which brought celebrities such as S.S. Rajamouli, Naga Chaitanya, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Navdeep, Nikhil Siddharth, Raj Tarun and others.

Rana was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to Telugu film producer Daggubati Suresh Babu [14][15] and is part of the Daggubati-Akkineni Family. His paternal grandfather was Tollywood film producer D. Ramanaidu. His paternal uncle Venkatesh and his cousin Naga Chaitanya are also actors in the film industry. Rana revealed in 2016 that he was blind in his right eye only during his childhood and later got operated in L.V Prasad Hospital and was cured. Rana Daggubati admitted that he can see through his right eye only due to an eye donated by someone else, while his left eye is normal.[16][17][18] He did his schooling in Hyderabad from Hyderabad Public School.

Rana's first movie was Leader, in Telugu, directed by Shekhar Kammula, which is one of his biggest successes. Rana made his Bollywood debut with the film Dum Maaro Dum, which released on 22 April 2011. The Times of India called it a "dashing debut".[19] He was voted "The Most Promising Newcomer of 2011" in the Times Of India poll.[20] He was listed at number 20 on the Times of India's Most Desirable Men for the year 2011.[21][22] In 2012, he was voted as the 10th most desirable man in India, in the poll conducted by The Times of India.

He played a professional killer in the film Nenu Naa Rakshasi, under Puri Jagannath's direction,[23] which was a box office bomb.[24][25] His first release in 2012 was Naa Ishtam, which was followed by his second Hindi film Department. He next starred in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, directed by Krish, which became a box office success.[26][27] He made his debut in Tamil through Ajith Kumar's Aarambam.[28] Rana did a cameo role in Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.[29]

In 2013, he joined two big budget projects, Gunasekhar's Rudhramadevi[30] and S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali, in which he is the lead antagonist.[31] Rana played Bhallaladeva, the cousin of Baahubali, who had negative shades and received unprecedented appreciation from critics. Baahubali: The Beginning was released worldwide in July 2015 and was the highest grossing film in India at the time of its release. The concluding film of the series Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, became the first Indian film to cross 1000 crore and is currently the second highest grossing Indian film.

Actor Rana Daggubati had eyes only for Trisha irrespective of whether he was onstage, off it, or even at the after-party. Though the two have been repeatedly denying the rumours, adding fuel to the alleged relationship, the duo travelled to Malaysia together to attend the awards.There has always been a buzz that Kollywood actress Trisha and Tollywood star Rana seem to be dating. But the latest buzz is that the two have broken their secret relationship due to Rana's link-up's with various girls.The two who had been following each other on twitter have now seems to have stopped following each other recently. Rana Daggubati recently tweeted, "There are always three sides to a story, your side, their side and then the truth that's completely different from both the above." Trisha seems to be retweeting quotes that suggest the she has moved on after the break up. The first was "Forgiving someone is easy, but being able to trust them again is a totally different story." actress followed it with "When a woman no longer gets frustrated and upset with you, you can almost guarantee that she doesn't care anymore."recently Trisha posted on Instagram a picture of a quote that said, "If I cut off, chances are you handed me the scissors." Kajal Aggarwal is running out of chances right now and she just has one movie under her kitty. Now recently the buzz is that Kajal Aggarwal has fall into a relation with Rana Daggubati.Earlier rumours said that Rana and Trisha were in a relationship. But as Trisha got engaged to another man which ended in break up, the rumours died all of a sudden. Later Rana was linked to various actresses and the recent one in the list is Kajal Aggarwal.

Rana gave Open Confession :: "I am in touch with Trisha and not having an affair with Kajal Aggarwal" [33]
