KUPRILLI DYNASTY 485-440 B.C
Kuprlli or Kuprilli was a dynast of Janto ( numismatic evidence : c 485 - 440 BC ). It is the oldest known member of the Janto Dynasty , who ruled over much of Lycia under the Persian Empire during the fifth century BC. C. It has been pointed out that the Janto Dynasty had ties of blood with the half Harpagus , who annexed Lycia to the Persian Empire ( c.540 BC ), although this is strongly rejected by AG Keen (1998).
Kuprlli's position, like that of his successors, tended to align with Persian interests. However, Kuprlli continued to mint coins in his name even during the period of Athenian rule ( c.460 - before 431 BC ).
