பழம்பெரும் தமிழ், தெலுங்கு மற்றும் மலையாள நடிகை. அந்தக் காலத்திலேயே பட்டப்படிப்பு பயின்றவர். சரஸா பி.ஏ.,, மாடப்புறா [1962], பலே பாண்டியா [1962], என்னதான் முடிவு [1965] உள்ளிட்ட பல தமிழ்த் திரைப்படங்களிலும் ‘அம்மயெ காணான்’ [1962] உள்ளிட்ட பல மலையாளம் மற்றும் சபாஷ் சூரி [1964] (பெரிய இடத்துப் பெண்), சிரி சம்படலு [1962], மஞ்சி மனசிலு [1962] [தமிழில் வெளிவந்த ‘குமுதம்’ படத்தின் தழுவலே இப்படம்] போன்ற தெலுங்குப் படங்களிலும் நடித்தவர்.




Vasanthi, the veteran actress, who had been addressed as Vasanthi BA, as she was one among the few graduates in the film industry on those days, passed away due to age-related health issues. She made her film debut with a Malayalam film, Minnaminungu in the year 1957. Her Telugu debut happened in the year 1960 and Tamil debut in 1961 with GEMINI GANESAN and Vyjayanthimala Bali in “Thennilavu.”




She had shared the screen space with “MGR” in Madappura and SIVAJIGANESAN in Bale Pandiya. Her last on-screen appearance was for a Malayalam film, Snehikkan Oru Pennu in 1978. Vasanthi had produced a couple of Telugu films too. She was married to P Seenivasan, who is a DMK politician. He had been the deputy speaker in DMK rule. He passed away in 2012. May Vasanthi’s soul rest in peace! Condolences to her family and friends!
