FINAL STAGE OF WARRING STATES 256-221 / QIN DYNASTY

While the Zhou Dynasty eventually fragmented into the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, these periods of conflict also saw the rise of powerful states vying for dominance. This competition, while destructive, also contributed to the eventual unification under the Qin Dynasty, as the concept of a unified China became more ingrained. The Zhou Dynasty's legacy is one of laying the foundation for a unified China through its political, social, and cultural contributions, even though it did not achieve unification itself.

The period between 256 BC and 221 BC in China was the Warring States period, a chaotic era marking the final centuries of the Zhou Dynasty. It was characterized by intense warfare between various states vying for dominance, culminating in the Qin state's eventual unification of China in 221 BC.
