Nazima was born in 1948 in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. She is known for her work on Manchali (1973), Abhinetri (1970) and Ranga Khush (1975).

Migrated to the Persian Gulf. Her brother Anwar Qamal is a widely respected Urdu short story writer.

She is granddaughter of actress Sharifa Bai.

She is the daughter of Husn Bano's brother,Nadir Shah. Husn Bano was married to director Aspi Irani.

Contrary to internet reports,Nazima is alive in and well living in Dadar, (Opposite of Pritam Ka Dhaba) Mumbai,India. She is still married and has cut off all ties with the film industry. She is now a devoutee to god.

Living in Dadar with her 2 grown up sons Rehan and Rehmat.

She did not expire in 1975. In the year 1976 she was sailing on a Norwegian oil tanker m.t. Golar Bali accompanying her sailor husband Mr. Arshul Rehman, mostly ferrying petroleum products among different Indonesian Islands. Due to some personal reasons she along with her husband and had to sign off from the vessel at an Indonesian port.
